Nintendo of Europe let out a pressrelease stating they've sold 2 million Gameboy Advance SP's in Europe. Hurray!

Figures released this week show that Nintendo continue to lead the handheld market across Europe. For gaming on the go you can't beat the Gameboy Advance SP, the must have gadget this Christmas.

In the run up to Christmas, sales of the pocket-sized device with the flip top and lit screen continue to rocket. Over 2 million Gameboy Advance SP units have been shipped across Europe since it launched six months ago, taking the total Gameboy Advance shipment figure to 9 million. This success is only set to escalate when Nintendo launch two fantastic new colours for the Game Boy Advance SP. The brand new colours, Arctic Blue and Flame Red will be available in stores across Europe from 24th October.

The run up to Christmas 2003 is an exciting time for the Gameboy Advance with the release of many incredible games, bringing the total catalogue of games available for the handheld console to over 400. Amazing games on offer this Christmas include Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3, Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Prepare yourself also for exciting games such as James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and FIFA Football 2004 from EA, Tony Hawk's Underground from Activision, Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo, Banjo Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge from THQ and Spyro Adventure and The Hobbit from Vivendi. All these and more are coming soon!

Unfortunately, Nintendo didn't announce a price-drop like they did for the GameCube. The Game Boy Advance will be more expensive than it's bigger brother with a price between 129 and 139 Euros versus 99 euros for the GameCube.
