'Development sources have told NOM UK that they're expecting to take delivery of development kits for the Gameboy Advance's successor before Christmas. The technology is all but finalised, so this gives developers time to ready titles for a predicted 2004 launch'

Off course, a launch in Japan near the end of 2004 does make sense, since the European and US launch were expected somewhere in Spring 2005.
