Yesterday, during the Nintendo press conference, Ninty-president Satoru Iwata said that Nintendo will announce their 'new product' during Spring next year. He also started talking about discs and cartridges...

In contrast with Sony's PSP, Iwata wasn't to delighted about the usage of media discs for storage. He talked about problems with the new mediatype on the account of weight, size and energy-use. If Sony (or any other company) could solve those problems, Iwata would surely consider using the discs in their future handheld.
