Nintendo today stated that the GameBoy Advance is currently the best-selling console in North America. No exact figures have been made available, but, according to the release, around 45 percent of all game consoles sold in North America last month were GBA systems.

Nintendo claims that the GBA outsold the PlayStation 2 through the first six months of this year, and that six of the top 10 selling games in the country right now are for the GBA. Sales of the GBA SP are expected to receive something of a boost on September 8, when two new colors, red and black are released.
