A long time ago, you could've read about the XtraFun cartridge being in development. Using this cart you'd be able to read your email, surf to this website or chat with some friends. Suddenly, it became silent... Until today!
The XtraFun cartridge was shown during the E3 event: the XtraFun cartridge is still in development. However, we do have some more information and some screens about it this time.
First of all, the XtraFun will use the (wireless) BlueTooth technology to connect to the internet. BlueTooth is becoming more and more a standard in the mobile-phone industry, so this won't be a big problem for most people. You can also buy a BlueTooth adapter for your PC, so your GBA will connect using your broadband connection.
We also got a list (which you can also see on the second image) with a few of the capabilities of the XtraFun. Here we go:Interactive PlayStandard Play ApplicationsEmail (send and receive)Text MessagingChatE-Text (E-books)Sketch Pad (drawing with your friends)Pictures/Video playbackMobile (through BlueToothTruly GlobalMultiple Players (so: gaming)Diagnostic tools (selftests, so you can be sure you didn't do anything wrong)Enable/Disable device remotelyPersonalized Ringtones/Logo'sTime SynchronizationLocation Awareness (GPS?)Conistent User InterfacePlay .wav filesSD Card socket, and finally...Wireless Printing Now that's a list. If I understand this whole thing correctly, you'd be able to "remotely send your photo's stored on SD Card to your friends emailaddress, using your mobile phone"
