ALL Two New Reviews

In what may be out final two reviews for 2011, Chris takes a look at two of the bigger first party releases this Q4 but should they be on your Christmas list?

While almost every publisher has a racing title of some description it's difficult to compete with Nintendo's own Mario Kart 7. This time around it's in 3D but was it worth the wait. Chris spends some time with it and you can read his thoughts here.

If Mario Kart was one of the bigger 3DS releases then Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was certainly the same for Wii owners. It's difficult not to enjoy any of the games in this multi-million selling series but what's this one like? Chris gives you the full report here.

  • Unfortunately for me, I feel that SS is probably the weakest of the 3D home console Zeldas. It's still a lot better than many other games coming to market on any console but I didn't get the same feeling in it as I did with OoT, Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. Will say, though, that the orchestrated CD that comes with the game is beautiful. The TP arrangement has reminded me how great the music was in that game. Oh, and the rubber banding in MK7 continues to annoy me. 4 blue shells and 3 lightning bolts in one race (on 50cc even) shouldn't be allowed to happen.

  • Design wise I'd say SS is a pile of shit. It brings in some good things, but overall it is designed pretty bad. But enjoyability wise its pretty good. However I wouldn't put it as my favorite- that still goes to MM (for 3D games).
