ALL Ubisoft announces Drawsome peripheral for Wii

While reporting their first-half 2011-2012 results, Ubisoft sneaked in a little announcement with even less details: a new peripheral for Wii, showing some resemblance to THQ's uDraw tablet, the Drawsome.

Tablets are hot! People are buying iPads, Android tablets, the Wii U features a tablet controller (or two, according to the latest rumours) and THQ even released a tablet controller for Wii called uDraw. That's why Ubisoft decided to bring their own tablet for Wii on the market next month, just in time for the holiday season. Enter "Drawsome"...

Not much is known about Drawsome yet, except for an announcement trailer (see below) and a few details on the controller and the accompanying games.

The Drawsome tablet seems to be a replica of THQ's uDraw tablet for Wii. The touch-screen controller holds an 8.5 inch screen and comes with two games, Drawsome Artist and Drawsome Sketch Quest. Using the tablet controller, powered by a regular Wii controller, gamers can draw creations that come to life on the TV. The creations can also be saved to an SD card to share with friends later on.

In Drawsome Artist, you get to dream big and create your own masterpieces. Discover the world of imagination with countless art tools and techniques. Express your creativity, hone your artistic skills, and share your creations with family and friends. Create masterpieces in Free Draw or go step-by-step in Learn to Draw mode. Add the finishing touches to fun drawings in Coloring Book mode. Following Ubisoft's license, the game also features The Smurfs.

Drawsome Sketch Quest is a totally different story. In this title, you embark on fun adventures with the whole family. After a violent storm, PaperCity inhabitants need to collect fallen stars to rebuild their world. Travel through 80 levels, using your Magic Pen to draw bridges, trampolines, and more to help these cute animals save their world! Up to four players can play with 40 characters.
