Multiplayer Virtual Console Games on the 3DS

It appears that NES Virtual Console games on the 3DS will have multiplayer functions. However not right away.

When the systems price decrese was announced it was revealed that the gamers who have purchased the system prior to the decrease will get an array of free games. The 10 free NES games been offered where going to be free for the ambassador program, with an update been issued later in the year when they are available to the general public.

It seems that update is the addition of multiplayer functionality. With ambassadors to get the update for free, future system adopters will need to fork out to acquire the games with the multiplayer functionality.

It is unknown if this functionality will extend to other virtual console games appearing on the 3DS.
