Skyward Sword Item System Explained

During a video interview, Nintendo of America's Bill Trinen has revealed more details about the upcoming Zelda games Item System.

Trinen explained that while Link has his traditional shield at the start of the game, he will get a lot of different shields throughout the game. He also mentioned that Nintendo has "build an entire upgrade system into the game".

Bill Trinen continued to say that, "as you fight enemies, you will recover kind of these treasures of artefacts that you can then use as resources to upgrade your items". Also mentioned were the majority of the games items and specific items such as the shield and the beetle would have this ability. Trinen continued on to mention that players might find some artifices throughout the game which they would then need to use their rupees alongside to upgrade the items instead.
