ALL THQ and Mattel join forces on Monster High

Fashion dolls turned into a video game are nothing new (just think of Ubisoft's Bratz-franchise). THQ now hops onto the fashion-bandwagon with Mattel's Monster High: Ghoul Spirit, set for both Nintendo DS and Wii.

From popular webisodes to a top-selling line of fashion dolls, Monster High has become one of the hottest entertainment franchises for girls "ghost to ghost." This fall, the creepy cool campus goes virtual in Monster High: Ghoul Spirit, an all-new video game scheduled for release in October from THQ.

After creating and customizing their own scary-cute avatars, players will be able to hang out with Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf, Lagoona Blue, Cleo de Nile and the entire Monster Highstudent body as they come to the Wii and Nintendo DS /DSi game systems. Monsters new to the campus will embrace all their freaky flaws in seven brand-new episodes that have been created especially for the first-ever Monster Highvideo-game experience.

From homeroom to extra-curricular activities, Monster Highfans will socialize with students and discover new secrets - and even an all-new character who comes to Monster Highfor the first time in the video game. As they explore the campus, players will engage in special assignments that let them explore the open-world setting of Monster High. Whether they're haunting the hallways, practicing their fear-leading, or learning scary new facts in class, their ultimate goal is every ghoul's dream (or nightmare): to be crowned "Scream Queen" at the Terror Under the Sea Dance.

Different actions and accomplishments will affect their rise to spooky stardom, making Monster High Ghoul Spirit a different experience every time they play on the Wii or Nintendo DS. Immersing themselves in Monster High, they'll interact with students and teachers from the hub of their very own locker, which they can personalize with stickers and accessories earned throughout the game experience, and even communicate on their own iCoffin , a smartphone-style device within the game.

"The Monster High phenomenon is enormous and has attracted fans of all ages around the world," said Martin Good, Executive Vice President of PlayTHQ, the company's division for kids, family and casual games. "We've teamed with Mattel and its creative team to offer a video game that's authentic to the monster chic style and rich storytelling of the Monster Highfranchise while offering a robust and engaging experience for players."

The first project to be announced under a multi-year alliance between THQ and Mattel, Monster High Ghoul Spirit is scheduled to be available in stores worldwide this October for the Wii and Nintendo DS/DSi.
