Now Nintendo Servers are Hacked
Nintendo have confirmed that their US website server was hacked, only weeks ago, although they did go on to say that no user information was stolen by the hackers. Further to this Nintendo spokesman Ken Toyoda said "There were no third-party victims, but it is a fact there was some kind of possible hacking attack," and later added, "We are always working to make sure our systems are secure."
According to their Twitter account, the group called 'LulzSec' is responsible for the hack. The group managed to grab the Apache webserver-configuration of the Nintendo servers. This configuration holds no information about any users whatsoever, but did point out the different domains Nintendo of America is hosting on its server, including some domains used for testing purposes of the Nintendo QA team.
LulzSec pointed out the Nintendo was never targetted for doing any harm. The group wanted to point out to Nintendo that there were some security flaws and hoped Nintendo would fix the problems before any harm was done. As LulzSec stated "We're not targeting Nintendo. We like the N64 too much - we sincerely hope Nintendo plugs the gap. This is just for lulz. <3"
