Nintendo reconfirms Skyward Sword for 2011, plus many more surprises
Nintendo UK marketing manager Rob Lowe spoke recently on Skyward Sword, as well as emphasizing the Wii has a year full of many surprises.
"There are great new pieces of software launching this year such as Wii Play: Motion in June and Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword later on in 2011. Plus, there are plenty more surprises in store for 2012 from us - Wii has got a great future ahead of it. We just wanted to make sure that the appeal of Wii is as broad as possible, and the new Mario Kart bundle is designed to be a great value proposition to anyone who is interested in getting a Wii. With this specific campaign, we are targeting families with young kids looking to buy their first games console. This is a very large potential audience, and the new Mario Kart bundle will be the perfect proposition for them." - Nintendo UK marketing manager Rob Lowe

So this is not going to be a Twilight Princess.
I wouldn't mind to be honest.
The main problem with Twilight Princess was the unnecessary delay. They could have released a XD version later like Pokemon and other Zelda titles, but they chose to push it back to wait for Wii's release so they can use Twilight Princess to push Wii's sales. They could have also just design Twilight Princess specifically for Wii ahead of time, but instead it is a port. It ends up with it plays more natural with GC controller, thus the reason I said "unnecessary" delay.
We are a year out of Cafe, if Nintendo feels the extra mile is worth it for more sales of the title as a launch Cafe title and also appearing on Wii it would be fine. To be honest- its possible they add in secret Cafe functions.
Also nice to have a reconfirmation that there's still several surprises left for the Wii over the next year, until the Wii 2 comes out. Just what those games are are anyone's guess. Hopefully one is a localisation of The Last Story.
Well Nintendo seems to be more and more commited to releasing a title for each platform each month. So we might see lots of Japanese only titles finally coming out here.
