WII Xenoblade Coming To Europe This Year

After months of silence on whether the game would be making it's way outside of Japan, Nintendo of Europe have announced that Monolith Soft's latest RPG, Xenoblade, will be coming to Wiis in Europe this year.

Having been released in Japan last September, many wondered whether Monolith Soft's latest role playing epic would ever see the light outside of Japan. For months, gamers have begged Nintendo to bring the game to territories outside of Japan and after months of waiting, Nintendo of Europe have finally announced that the game will see release in Europe later this year.

Launching under the new title Xenoblade Chronicles, the game casts you as a character in a universe where two worlds created on dormant gods, called Bionis and Mechonis, are fighting an all out war with no end in sight. You'll control a character who joins the fight for Bionis and hopes to stave off an invading mechanical army and uncover the secrets of the mysterious sword known as the Monado.

Nintendo have announced that when the game in released in Europe, it will launch with both English and the original Japanese voice-overs as well as being fully subtitled in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.

No official release date was given but you can check out the newly launched website here.

At this time, no information is available on whether the game will receive a North American release but we will endeavour to bring that news for any North American reader as soon as it becomes available.

  • I would like to support Monolith, however they are on the same track as Square. Both are now making "Westernized" games, so for those who haven't played Xenoblade, it plays like a MMORPG that plays offline.

  • I'd like both this and The Last Story. Monolith Soft know how to make an RPG (Baten Kaitos and Xenogears/Saga) so I'm definitely excited for this. And I'm willing to bet that The Last Story will be one of the big announcements at E3 for localisation this year. It's going to happen as it's a Sakaguchi title and all of those bar ASH have been released worldwide.

  • I'm pretty sure its been rated resently in America. So it should see a release. Personally I want Last Story not this. But the game does look admazing.

  • JRPG doesn't sell in US like it used to. Golden Sun and Radiant Historia are the latest long lines of good old traditional JRPG, however it just didn't sell.
