The Hamburg-based publisher dtp entertainment have let us know about their new party game Lumberjacks which will be appearing soon for the Wii. Developed by Panic Button, this is the first party game to focus on the thrilling sport of lumber jacking, and lets players of every age outdo each other in a variety of traditional and wild logging competitions.

For an authentic and diverse gaming experience, Lumberjacks uses the Wii Balance Board to precisely determine the smallest of movements. In addition, players can appear as a lumberjack in the competitions with their own Mii.

In Lumberjacks, up to four players can face each other in five fun categories, including classic lumberjack disciplines like wood chopping and axe throwing. Those who prefer the chainsaw can swing one in the crosscut competition. In the exciting logrolling duel, you have to stay on a log floating in water for as long as possible. You have to be fast to leave your competitors behind in the speed climb.

Players have countless tools available, from saws and swords, to axes, staves, and sabres. Fifteen different avatars are available as virtual competitors, including some very strange characters. Ninjas, pirates, knights and even aliens turn into genuine lumberjacks in this game!
