3DS UK 3DS Price War - The Cheapest Deals Revealed!

It's been almost a month now since we've been privy to the official release date and pricing for Nintendo's latest handheld. There were some concerns, by gamers, that an official RRP was not set by Nintendo themselves which led to a variety of high street and on-line outlets setting the price at 229.99. Of course that didn't last for long and almost immediately the discounting began.

The latest retailers to enter the battle are supermarket chains Tesco and ASDA who have both set their pricing at under the 200 mark with free postage. On-line retailer Zavvi have also thrown their hat into the ring with a 199.99 listing which also includes a free case.

Have you found the cheapest 3DS deal? Are there any games included? Where are the best deals on games?

We need to know and so do all our readers so tell us what you know.

  • The Hut Group (which includes Zavvi) has been epic cheap for along time- some of their affiliate sites having it under the 200 mark. For Australians DSE is running a promotion for $300 + a game. Which can be dropped to 286 if you use a code- and if you work for them can be dropped to 262.

  • I am still waiting for US's deals. I really hate GameStop, but they are the only one with decent pre-order system. Toys 'R Us normally give amazing deals like gift certificate and discount each week, but they don't announce that until the week of release. Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and Amazon are not known to give special deals, just price drop.

  • Probably the best deal I've seen is HMV are selling the console in both colours for £219.99 with a free copy of either Splinter Cell 3D or Ghost Recon, which are both priced at £34.99 making the console essentially £185. Certainly better than my pre-order at GAME where it looks like I'll have to pay £220, minus the deposit. GAME/Gamestation are the only places not shifting on the price and it's ridiculous. It's one thing to make a profit but another to rip-off customers. Seriously contemplating the HMV deal as I was wanting Splinter Cell anyway.
