Pokémon typing game confirmed, titles for 3DS and Wii in development
The Nintendo DS is getting a new Pokon title. We're not referring to the Black and White editions released soon, but a whole new learning-title in which we get to use a Bluetooth keyboard. On a sidenote, new Pokon titles for Wii and Nintendo 3DS are confirmed to be in development.
Our colleagues from Siliconera found out that the Nintendo DS is facing a new Pokon title, currently titled Battle & Get! Pokon Typing DS. The game will be accompanied by a seperate Bluetooth keyboard that connects to the game's cartridge. With the keyboard and game, children get to learn some basic typing skills.
The Bluetooth keyboard might pop up on another occassion as well, as Nintendo president Satoru Iwata already claims that he and various Nintendo employees are already using the keyboard to connect to their iPhone or Android phones. Whether this will result in more future games to support the "add-on" remains unknown for the moment. As the Bluetooth-chip will bring in some extra costs, the feature might be preserved to select titles.
Some more information and photo's of the game and the Bluetooth keybaord for Nintendo DS can be found over at Siliconera's site.
Siliconera concludes their claims with Iwata also revealing that Nintendo is working on new Pokon games for both the Wii and Nintendo 3DS, which will be announced at a later date.
