Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 Release Date

After an initial delay which pulled it out of its original Summer 2010 release window, SEGA have finally provided a release date for Sonic's return to his roots.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 is the first new 2D Sonic title to release on a home console in over 10 years and looks set to follow its precursors closely, in some areas more closely than others, as Sonic once again has to halt Dr. Robotnik's evil plans.

The game was originally set for release during the Summer but after much of the game was leaked in video form, gamer feedback prompted SEGA to keep the game to in development a little longer while certain elements were either changed or refined to bring the game closer to its roots.

Now, SEGA have finally revealed that the game, which is a WiiWare download title, will be available for your pleasure in North America on the 11th of October and in Europe on the 15th of October. The game will be priced at 1500 Nintendo Points in both these regions.
