ALL Latest Japanese Software Sales

The latest software sales figures from Japan, for the week beginning the 26th of July and ending the 1st of August, have been published by Media Create.

This week saw the release of Capcom's historical action game Sengoku Basara 3 on the Wii and PS3. How did the Wii version fare against its bigger brother?

As you can see, the Wii version of Sengoku Basara 3 only managed to sell a fraction of what the PS3 version did begging the question of why so few units were sold given the large install base of the Wii in Japan.

Elsewhere, Wii Party continues to sell well, having stepped down from 1 to 3 this week. And some new entries into well loved franchises ousted Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Victory from the top 10, with the latest Fire Emblem title on the DS managing to just hold on to 10th place.

One sad point, however, is the disappearance of Hudson Soft's Lost in Shadow from the top 50, after a debut last week which saw it come in at No. 39. Hopefully it will fare much better when it gets released in North America and Europe early next year.
