New Pokemon WiFi Event for North America

Nintendo have announced the next WiFi event to hit both Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver for North America. Full details inside.

PokonTM Trainers get ready to unlock the secrets of the Enigma Stone as The Pokon Company International and Nintendo of America Inc. introduce a limited distribution via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. Beginning this Saturday, July 31, through Friday, August 27, players of Pokon HeartGold and Pokon SoulSilverVersions who have wireless broadband Internet access can receive the Enigma Stone for a chance to catch the amazing, yet elusive, Legendary Pokon LatiasTM or LatiosTM.

Similar to the other half of the Legendary pair that can be caught normally during gameplay, the Pokon encountered with the Enigma Stone will be at Level 40. In exchange for the Enigma Stone, Pokon fans will also get the Soul Dew, a held item that powers up the Special Attack and Special Defense of Latios and Latias. Only Pokon players who have beaten the Elite Four, claimed the National Pokex, and have two or fewer Wonder Cards can solve the riddle of the Enigma Stone to capture Latios for Pokon HeartGold Version or Latias for Pokon SoulSilver Version.

The announcement only concerned the North American region so if you have a copy of either game from that region, then all you'll need to do is connect to the WiFi Connection from the 31st and you'll unlock the event. No news was given on whether the event will come to Europe, however past events have followed the North American ones closely.
