ALL de Blob: The Underground Gets European Release Date

THQ have announced the official release date for de Blob: The Underground, the sequel to one of 2008's best games on the Wii, in Europe.

Now scheduled for release on both the Nintendo DS and Wii, with a 3DS version also in the pipeline, the game will see two different storylines for both the aforementioned versions. On the Wii, de Blob: The Underground sees the return of Comrade Black and his attempts to rid Prisma City of colour once and for all, rigging an election and taking over the city with a new brainwashed cult along the way. It's up to you as Blob to restore colour to the once vibrant city and rid Prisma of Comrade Black once and for all. The game will incorporate the same colourful liberation of the city as seen in the previous game, but this time bringing in new powerups, a sidekick named Pinky and many new features.

The DS version will see the action move from Chroma City, where Comrade Black and his goons have long since been overthrown, to the jungle, where Dr. von Blot is carrying out research into a new form of Mutated Ink, all the while stealing unsuspecting creatures to test the ink on. Going for a walk in the jungle, Blob stumbles across the research facility and, becoming captured, takes it upon himself to stop Dr. von Blot before it's too late. The game will be a 2d side scroller and will feature its own gameplay elements to drive forward a rich, story driven environment.

Both versions of the game will see a release in Europe on the 25th of March next year. No details were mentioned of the 3DS version of the game. Stay tuned to DS-x2 for more information on the games as the release date approaches.
