The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - First Story Details
While the new cotrol scheme and visual style took much of the presentation time at their conference, Nintendo neglected to mention anything on the story. Until now that is as during their yearly developer roundtable, Miyamoto has divulged the first details.
During Nintendo's developer roundtable event, Miyamoto unveiled the first story details on the new The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword game for the Nintendo Wii. The game stars a Link who has grown up on a city, named Skyloft, which is floating in the sky. In the trailer shown at the event, we see Link jump from the floating city and descend to the world below. He is descending to search the underlying world, plagued by evil, for the Skyward Sword.
The most interesting piece of information given on the story, however, is that the Skyward Sword will apparently become the Master Sword during the game and that it is, as many thought, able to transform into the semi-human female character seen in the teaser artwork unveiled at last year's event.
Speaking on the art style during the roundtable, Miyamoto stated that his influence for it was based on the work of Impressionist artists, with the game and it's current trailers sporting an almost watercoloured look.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is well into development and the game will be available in stores next year.
