London MCM Expo sets world record for Largest Handheld Party

The MCM Expo smashed the previous world record for the largest Handheld Game Console Party.

The MCM Expo took the Guinness World Record for "Largest Handheld Game Console Party", last weekend with a group of 586 Nintendo DS owners in one location.

Previously the record was held by Australia, which was set by Nintendo of Australia in 2007, by attracting 381 people to Parramatta's Westfield in Sydney Australia.

Guinness adjudicator Damian Field said the record been broken was "a tremendous achievement for the MCM Expo" and "It's rare for a UK mass participation to reach over 500".

The expo itself was able to attract more than 41,000 visitors over the weekend it was on. The next MCM Expo is held between October 30th and 31st.
