WII Team6 announces Squash title for Wii

Today Team6 revealed that they are developing a squash sportsgame, in cooperation with Daan van der Dussen, former international junior player and the National Coach at Norwegian Squash Federation.

Squash is a realistic sports game with hundreds of unique motion-captured moves, promising a very close to real-life squash experience. The game targets both the general gamer audience, as well as the real squash fanatics, with insane fast, intuitive but accessible controls. At this time, little is known yet about which top players, locations or licenses are involved but the game will contain several tournaments, a quick play mode and also multiplayer.

Ronnie Nelis, CEO Team6 game studios, commented: "For me, Squash is a much more faster, agressive, raw and also responsive game than, for example, tennis. Therefore we think Squash will translate itself much better to a game compared to tennis, which is much slower, less responsive and thus also less cooler sport to make a video game for. For Squash, gamers will not only need to have much faster reflexes than for any other sportsgame, but they will also even have to think about their strategy during the game: All this makes a very good reason for us to make a game that nobody dared to make before. We hope that a single match of Squash will leave gamers behind drenched in sweat because of the tension, speed and effort that a single match of Squash requires."

Daan van der Dussen added:"The sport of squash is the most healthiest game according to Forbes Magazine and is a fantastic tactical game, since the strikers can use 4 walls. I believe we are able to put those aspects in the game, so we get a realistic and spectacular game!"
