October Release for 3DS?

Trade weekly MCV is reporting that the 3DS may be hitting stores a little earlier than expected in fact it may be as soon as October of this year.

This is a bit of a surprise given that the console was only announced just over a month ago but there are a number of reports, in the specialist press which appear to back up these reports.

  Well a release in Japan before the end of the year looks likely and this information does point to it possibly being available in the UK/Europe before the end of the year so it's possible. But I'm wondering whether they'll have the software to make the first couple of months smooth sailing or whether there'll be a drought of games like at the launch of the DS. If that's going to be the case, I'd rather they simply held it until there was enough third party support to justify a release.
