Pokémon Black & White - First screenshots

Nintendo of Japan and the Pokon Company have released six 'real' screenshots of the upcoming Pokon Black & White for Nintendo DS.

The first 'real' screenshots of Pokon Black & White for Nintendo DS have been released by Nintendo of Japan. Although we still know little about the game, we didn't want to keep these new visuals from you.

  I'm not sure if I like the graphics yet. It seems to be a mix of D/P/P/HG/SS with the 3rd Gen character sprites.... It looks pretty meh. Like in one screen theres a "truck" on the road- apparently, and I'm like how did they work that out? I can't tell what the hell it is.

  The sprite work is still on the same level used in the Diamond/Platinum/Pearl games, which is slightly disappointing consider how far 2d sprite work has been pushed on the handheld. I'm not saying they should aim for a The Worl Ends With You aesthetic but advance them a little more for this being the next generation of Pokemon games. It's the 3d though, that's looking much better, with contoured landscaping for varied elevations and higher quality 3d models and texturing for the buildings. It still looks like a Pokemon game but it's a nice step forward on the DS. I'm still thinking there'll be some 3DS enhancements put into the game for when played on that as the battle screen just screams potential for 3D.
