Nintendo 3DS Mock Up's
We brought you news only last week about Nintendo's leap into the world of 3D consoles and almost instantly, the guessing has began. Website tiny cartridge has published a full list of gamers impressions of what the new handheld will look like but which one will it be?
The Nintendo 3DS will feature backwards compatibility with the Nintendo DS software library, including the Nintendo DSi-only and enhanced titles. From this point of view, we can also conclude that the Nintendo 3DS will feature at least 2 cameras, touch screen and a resolution of at least 2 times 256x192 pixels, perhaps even combined into a single screen.

Always interesting to see mock ups of future consoles. Perhaps one of those could be the correct design but the main thing Nintendo will need to do is differentiate it from the DS so a clamshell look may not be what they go for this time, but is perhaps the best way to minimise the distance between the screens. It'll certainly be interesting to see what it looks like. I'm sure it'll be another Apple-esque, minimalist look this time around, forgoing something akin to the DS Phat.
The neogaf thread has been going full frotal with them, some are interesting others are not. But I think the main gripe here is everyone is pretty much using what the DS has set as the standard- yes its going to be backwards compadable which means its going to have to keep most of the form factor- but they are just going with the obvious design.
