Square's Final Fantasy Tactics will sell for sure, but Camelot's Golden Sun went platinum in the US.

While Square is gearing up for the release of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on the GameBoy Advance, the RPG genre has already found success on Nintendo's handheld thanks to developer Camelot. Known for its work on the Mario Tennis series, the company's premiere RPG offering for the GameBoy Advance Golden Sun recently broke the 1 million sales mark in North America.

Speaking about the game's success, Camelot director Hiroyuki Takahashi said, "We've been especially lucky overseas [North America]. In the West, Golden Sun has already been recognized by players as a solid RPG brand. We developed the game as a large scale RPG the likes of Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy, but we never anticipated this level of success, especially in America."
