Rock Band 2 for Europe after all

It took nearly a year, but Rock Band 2 is finally heading for European Wii's.

Harmonix and Electronic Arts have announced that Rock Band 2 will finally head to Europe for Wii. Starting this 9 October, Rock Band 2 software for the Nintendo Wii will become available in European stores for a suggested retail price of 39.99.

Regarded as the ultimate music gaming experience by critics and consumers alike, Rock Band 2 has revolutionized the music gaming category with inventive gameplay modes such as Online World Tour, Battle-Of-The Band Tournaments, No Fail Mode, and a real Drum Trainer. Rock Band 2 also allows players to export their in-game band avatar to the internet and order custom Rock Band merchandise upgrades including apparel and figures.

Featuring over 100 songs (The Rock Band 2 game disc will feature 84 tracks. In addition, players will have access to an additional 20 free DLC tracks. Online connection required.), Rock Band 2 showcases an extensive music catalogue with an eclectic blend of classic and new artists. The Rock Band library for Wii in Europe will have over 250 songs available on disc and for download by early 2010 with new content added weekly.

Rock Band 2 is compatible with all Rock Band and The Beatles: Rock Band controllers, as well as most Guitar Hero and other authorized third-party controllers and microphones.
