NoA announces Black Wii (Remote and Nunchuk)

Okay, we admit we're a tad mean here. Fact is, Nintndo of America has announced the North American release of a black Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Now we'll just have to keep waiting for a black Wii itself.

Nintendo today announced a new color for the revolutionary Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers and Wii MotionPlus accessory. This holiday season, Nintendo will release a new Black version of the Wii Remote bundled with a Black version of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which brings precise motion control to games that have been designed for it. A Black version of the Nunchuk controller also will be available for the holidays. For those who like both black and white, rest assured: the black Nunchuk will be available as a standalone purchase as well.

In Nintendo's press release on the new black controllers, Nintendo states "The Black bundle is the first new color for the Wii Remote and Wii MotionPlus," which may indicate that we'll see more colors in the near future.
