Japan weeklies; DS domination
The DS holds top 4 software positions with the DSi in top slot for hardware. Wii peaks to three. Stocks and sales remain shaky. Nintendo comments.
For May 4 through May 10:
"It's been a tough month across the board in all categories, and it's likely that it's impacting video games," said Cammie Dunaway, NOA executive VP of sales and marketing.

Second dismal sales month in U.S. slumps Wii sales down over half, reports Bloomberg news. U.S. stores sold 340,000 Wii in April, down from 714,000 a year earlier, said NPD. Sales of video games stateside dropped 23 percent.
"We think the market potential of Wii may have peaked out," Satoru Kikuchi, a Tokyo-based analyst at Deutsche Bank AG, wrote in a May 11 report. "We think the market will begin to lower expectations on Nintendo, which is likely to enter a period of profit decline."
Nintendo closed down 0.8 percent for the week in Osaka trading. An interesting offset; Sony surged 7.1 percent on American banks' buy recommendation.
Nintendo had the four top-selling games in April, including 'Wii Fit', which sold 471,000 copies, and 'Pokemon Platinum', with sales of 433,000.
"It's been a tough month across the board in all categories, and it's likely that it's impacting video games," said Cammie Dunaway, NOA executive VP of sales and marketing.
