Namco Bandai wants all of D3
Namco Bandai obtained 95 percent of D3 Publisher, why not the whole enchilada?
Namco Bandai's plan to acquire D3 Publisher is complete. Namco now owns 95 percent of the company, worth roughly $12.55 million. By all accounts, business will continue as usual at D3. Speculation of cross-sharing franchises is just that, speculation, but we'll keep you up to date. Meanwhile, Namco is determined to seal the deal in full.
Said D3 Publisher's Publicity Manager, Tamara Sanderson Low in an email to videogame site Kotaku:
"Bandai Namco Games, owned by Bandai Namco Holding Inc, plans to acquire 100% of D3, Inc., and its subsidiaries D3Publisher of America and D3Publisher of Europe. D3Publisher operations will remain unchanged at this time. Development of our current and unannounced titles is ongoing and will move forward as planned. D3Publisher is thrilled to join forces with Bandai Namco Games to further strengthen their position in the US and European marketplaces and continue to make quality games that gamers will enjoy."
The global economic crisis continues to shape the videogame landscape, at least as to who controls it; what small men will fall?
