Are you special enough for American Mensa?
A new license agreement has ben announced, this time between Empire Interactive and American Mensa. We haven't got a clue on what this might turn into.
Empire Interactive today announced an exclusive, multi-year deal with American Mensa, acquiring the rights to develop and publish videogames based on the Mensa license in the United States. Through the agreement, Empire Interactive will create console, handheld, and PC/Mac game adaptations. A similar deal was also signed with British Mensa.
"American Mensa is very selective about the companies we partner with, so we are especially pleased to have this new relationship with Empire Interactive," said Dr. John Sheehan, Development Officer of American Mensa. "One of Mensa's primary goals is to foster intelligence, and we are confident that with Empire's unquestioned reputation for excellence, we will move closer to achieving that goal."
"Signing a partnership with such a trusted and respected organization like Mensa is a tremendous honor for Empire Interactive," said Karim Farghaly, Vice President of Empire Interactive. "We have always been committed to delivering quality products and are excited about the endless possibilities with the Mensa license."
Now for all of you who haven't got a clue about Mensa (we have to admit we had to look it up too): American Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top two percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. The organization has more than 56,000 members in the United States and more than 110,000 members around the world. Members of Mensa attend local and national events, join special interest groups such as astronomy and philosophy, and help out in their communities through various projects. Now what exactly we might expect to see in future videogames, we don't know. Perhaps that secret is within grasp of those part of the 2 percent...
