Nyko Nunchuk Knock-Off Forced to Redesign
The ongoing Nunchuk lawsuit between Nintendo and Nyko was settled out of court today. Nyko's wireless Nunchuk, newly designed, will hit shelves with Nintendo's honor intact.
Nintendo of America Inc. and Nyko Technologies Inc. said Wednesday they have settled a lawsuit over the Nunchuk controller used for the Wii gaming console. NOA had sued videogame accessory giant Nyko, alleging violation of its intellectual property rights.
The exact terms of the settlement were not disclosed but under the agreement, Nyko will continue to sell a redesigned version of its Kama wireless controller.
"We are pleased to have resolved this dispute," said Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "The Nunchuk and Wii brands are familiar to consumers worldwide, and Nintendo is dedicated to vigorous defense of those brands."
