Microsoft - The Wii Doesn't Even Have Online
It seems Microsoft is at it again speaking before knowing and this latest issue just might backlash. Chris Lewis, VP of the Interactive Entertainment Business for Microsoft EMEA, has stated that the Nintendo Wii doesn't have online, which it does.
Microsoft is known for shooting off comments about other consoles when they don't know the facts 100% themselves which is just what has happened with Chris Lewis. Chris Lewis, VP of the Interactive Entertainment Business for Microsoft EMEA, has recently stated the following in the interview Nintendo occupies a different space to us in that regard as well, in that [the Wii] isn't an online connected platform, it isn't high definition, it doesn't offer the scalability we offer in the SKU lineup and the storage ability.
While some of the things Mr. Lewis stated are correct, saying the Wii doesn't have online is pure idiocy.

For the truth, Nintendo's Wi-Fi connection is unorganized and very limited by friend codes.
Friend codes make everything much more complicated. I don't know why they couldn't have just had usernames.
And it does have 480p, kiddie HD yes, but still HD...wow, where'd this guy come from? Bill Gates' -ss?
It's not full HD though even with that extra cable, it's an upscale of the SD image produced by the console. It makes a visible difference though, I always play it like that.
This is exactly what Microsoft always have done. Wait until their competitors has come up with great concept, then steal them and put ten times the budget on it. After they have improved on other people's concepts they will then talk trash on what other people haven't done. Nintendo came up with the console connectivity with GameBoy and Nintendo was the first one to announce their Shopping Channel to allow players to download contents.
Microsoft haven't copied that much have they? There's the NXE avatars I know, but I can't think of anything else. Xbox has had the Marketplace since the original Xbox, it certainly wasn't copied from Nintendo. Even if it was, which is unlikely, they've done a much better job of it to be honest.
