Japan Sales: DSi Charts New Course

Sales numbers for November 3-9 are in, and the DSi and DS software are topping and toppling the charts. Read further for the hard numbers and game titles within.

The DSi outsold the PSP over a 2-to-1 margin, selling 104,897 units November 3-9.

The DS changed the look of the Top 50, sending long standing GTA IV from the top tier. Nintendo's cute, pink powder-puff mascot Kirby knocked the game to fifth position. Four of the five bestselling titles in Japan last week were Nintendo published DS titles. The hard numbers courtesy of Media Create:

1 - Hoshi no Kirby: Ultra Super Deluxe for DS with 265,654 units sold

2 - Rhythm Tengoku Gold for DS with 39,891 units sold

3 - Wagamama Fasion: Gals Mode for DS with 37,411 units sold

4 - Pokon Platinum for DS with 36,670 units sold

5 - Grand Theft Auto IV for PS3 with 35,851 units sold

Over half of the Top 50 games were DS titles last week.
