DSi Downloads Won't Take Over
With Nintendo's new approach they will be using with the DSi to have downloadable games for it many believe the DSWare will take over retail titles. Reggie says this isn't the case.
Under the impression that DSWare will take over retail titles for the Nintendo DSi? Well according to Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime you are wrong. After many analysts and other people jumped to the conclusion that the downloadable titles for the DSi will be the way that Nintendo are going with. Reggie however says this isn't the case and has said "(DS software downloads are) a nice added business model but it's not something that's going to take over retail game sales.. We'll be able to see the sales growth and plan for it. But I guess similar to home consoles, the consumer will want an experience that's best delivered through physical goods, simply because of the memory size required. There will always be those opportunities for big, in-depth games on retail products."
Will the memory size of the DSi cause storage problems?

The external SD card will be widely used. SD card this now-a-day can go up to 16 gig, so size is no issue. What's bumming about DSi is that it's region locked. I have greatly enjoyed Jump Superstars and Jump Ultimate Stars, if the third game comes out I am sure I will import it on day one. Region lock will render it useless.
The Nintendo DSi can only read SD cards up to 2 GB, as stated in the conference. As stated by Reggie, important games will be released in cartridge form, to allow DS Lite users to buy them. So, if a Jump Superstars 3 will be done, it will be in cartridge.
