WII Nintendo Had Chance to use MotionPlus from Start

MotionPlus which is soon to be released for the Nintendo Wii has been available for Nintendo to use with the Wii since before its launch, so why didn't they use it?

MotionPlus is the soon to be released add-on for the Nintendo Wii that will take motion control for the Wii to the whole next level. However the technology used for the MotionPlus isn't something new to Nintendo as the company already had the technology available and even had the chance to use it for the launch of the Nintendo Wii.

So why didn't they? Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, had this to say "We were aware of that technology (the gryoscopic chips made by Invensense) at the time we designed the original Wii. But the cost would have been too high for the business model. It would have been unacceptable."
