Nintendo Sees U.S. Sales Increase in Future
NOA believes the current economic crisis will actually lead to better sales. Economists shake their heads.
The current economic turmoil in America has not affected American sales of Nintendo systems, said Reggie Fils-Aime (head of Nintendo's American operations) this Thursday. While there are no plans to drop the systems' current prices, Fils-Aime believes the financial turmoil will lead consumers to seek more inexpensive entertainment. With economists warning of the worst financial quarter in decades, Nintendo's holiday ramp up of Wii systems will test his theory.
