Japan: Video Game Hardware Sales face First Decline in Four Years
Japan's home video game market declined 21.3 % from the same period last year. Also, first half of 2008 hardware sales numbers in.
Reuter's news service reports Japan's home video game market declined 21.3 % between April to September compared to the same period last year. Citing a survey by Enterbrain Inc., the Nikkei business news website said this was the first period to period decline in four years. This could be due to the sales height of new game systems during the 2007 period.
Overall, video game hardware sales have dropped by 33.5 % during the first half of 2008, compared to last year.
