Final Fantasy: Echoes of Time Announced for Wii + DS

In a shock announcement today, S-E revealed in this weeks Famitsu that both the Wii and DS are receiving a brand new title in the Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles series - Final Fantasy: Crystal Chornicles: Echoes of Time.

The cincher here is that both the DS and Wii versions of Echoes of Time will be fully playable online and offline with each version of the game. So DS players can play with Wii players and vice versa (as well as each version with own version) thanks to Square Enix's Pollux Engine.

Each version of the game will have different gameplay modes - stylus based for DS and Wiimote based for the Wii. However, both versions have the same storyline focused around a girl known as Charlotta as well as a mysterious crystal.

You can also play as your Mii's in both the Wii version and the DS version (by downloading the Mii face data to the DS itself).

The game is scheduled to be released Janurary 29th 2009 in Japan, the Famitsu scan is beow.
