SuperGrafx Added to Virtual Console

Nintendo has added another console and it's games to the Virtual Console, within Japan, and this time it's the ill-fated SuperGrafx that has been added.

The Japanese now have the ability to play SuperGrafx titles on the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console system. But there won't be that many extra titles from it.

The SuperGrafx which was Nec's ill-fated console which only had seven titles released for it, all which will be heading to the Nintendo Wii. Capcom's Daimakaimura, or Ghouls n' Ghosts to us, will be the first SuperGrafx title becoming available tomorrow.

It is unknown if Nintendo plan on making SuperGrafx titles available on the Virtual Console anywhere else in the world for the time being.

  Actually surprised that Nintendo would make the SuperGrafx available on Virtual Console, especially since it had only seven titles.

  SuperGrafx is just an upgrade to the TurboGrafx, similar to upgrades given by expansion card like the Arcade Card for the PCE CD. It shouldn't be difficult for Nintendo to adjust the TurboGrafx emulator to do the job for the SuperGrafx.
