Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is an upcoming Nintendo DS title from Rockstar that is the next title within the Grand Theft Auto series. GTA: Chinatown Wars sees the series return to some of it's earlier roots.

• Chinatown Wars will go back to the original top-down view that all early GTA titles were
• The game will be cel-shaded an cut-scenes are handpainted with some animated
• Like most GTA games it takes place within Liberty City
• Touch screen and stylus are used for movement of your in game character
• Missions are shorter due to it being a handheld title
• The GTA title for the Game Boy Advance has no inspiration on this title

Along with the above details that have been released concerning this title details concerning the main story of the game has also been released. You, the player, are the main character Huang Lee who is a member of the Chinese Triads of Chinatown. Recently mourning your father's death you are sent by the triads to deliver a family heirloom, that belonged to your father, to Uncle Wu "Kenny" Lee. However an ambush occurs by enemies of the Chinese Triads which results in the stealing of the family heirloom and revealing they killed your father making you want to set out for revenge.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be released during Feburary, 2009.
