'Final Fantasy IV The After' Could Head Else Where
Final Fantasy IV: The After is a current sequel to Final Fantasy IV available in Japan on mobile phones that could see a release on either WiiWare or as a Nintendo DS title.
Recently within Japan a mobile phone game titled 'Final Fantasy IV The After' had been released by Square Enix in episodes. Set quite some time after the original Final Fantasy IV, which had been recently re-released for the Nintendo DS, this game sees the return of some of the original cast and is based on the Final Fantasy IV Advance game engine.
The title of course has had quite some hype in Japan which has only be enlarged more by Producer Takashi Tokita of all Final Fantasy IV titles, including The After, in which he was asked about this title for next generation consoles.
Tokita's reply was "We just remade [Final Fantasty IV], so it's a bit of a stretch... [Laughs] Currently the sequel, FINAL FANTASY IV the After: Tsuki no Kikan is available for mobile phones in Japan. We'll do our best to make this game available for our overseas audiences as well!"
Now if Square Enix has this running on a GBA enigne it would work well on the Nintendo DS but being released in episodes makes it a good candidate for WiiWare, which currently has one title released in episodes available.

Suprised they didn't make this on PSP, or is it coming next?
I hope FF4 : The After comes to the US. Come on Square, make my dreams come true!
