Progressive Media, a leading mobile games developer, today announced that the company has set up a new division focused on Nintendo DS development, and that the first Nintendo DS title is launching this holiday season.

Published by KREA Media, Pixeline and the Mirror of Dreams takes the well-known Pixeline children's character through her first adventures on Nintendo DS. In order to find the missing Mr. Hak and the mirror of dreams, Pixeline must travel through 11 worlds in the Pixieland universe, interact with a number of different personalities, buy and sell items, and play through 14 fun touch- and microphone enabled mini-games.

Thomas Nielsen, CEO of Progressive Media explains the strategy behind the move on to the console scene: "We're determined to evolve Progressive Media into one of the worlds leading independent cross-platform game specialists, and our move into Nintendo DS is a big step in that direction."

He continues, "We're already working with ambitious partners to bring out new titles across J2ME, BREW, online social communities, PC downloadable, Xbox Live Arcade and now Nintendo DS - And we'll be making more announcements on both iPhone and Android later this year."

"The in-house technology we've built over the past years allows us to cost-effectively develop and launch across multiple platforms, positioning us as an attractive development partner for what we believe will provide the most growth for the games market: fun, easily digestible games, available to consumers for a number of different platforms, through a number of different approaches to distribution", he adds.
