WII Doublesix Joins WiiWare Bandwagon

Another developer has joined the development WiiWare group: Doublesix will develop for downloadable titles on Wii.

Based in Guildford, development studio Doublesix has been established to create addictive, "have another go" videogames across all downloadable formats with the intention of establishing themselves as a world leader on digital distribution across all platforms: XBLA, PSN, WiiWare and PC.

According to studio head James Brooksby, the focus of doublesix is on addictive gameplay : games that are quick to pick up and hard to put down. This philosophy helped the studio choose its name: "Rolling a double six is about having another go and that embodies what we're about : addictive, fun games that you always want to go back to."

Brooksby continued, "We believe that the future of digitally-distributed games promises to be more diverse than ever in respect to the scale and genre of development and with respect to the business models. Doublesix has been established to deliver on that promise. We're here to offer publishers the technical know-how and creativity they need."

This focus is unique amongst Kuju's studios and their ultimate ambition is to become the go-to studio for any digital download project. Boublesix believes online, multiplayer and downloadable games will prevail as the next big thing in video game production.
