07 Commando : Preview and new screens

Lexicon Entertainment has just announced this exciting new side scrolling shooter heading to the Nintendo DS.

"07 Commando brings tense, dramatic and explosive combat action to life!"

Chinese developers Manaisoft are in the works of developing this ambitious side scroller that brings with it the flavour of old school arcade to the DS small screens. The release is scheduled for Q1 in 2008 and will retail for $40US / $47AU / £19.99. The game is structured to present the action on the top screen and the map and mini games on the bottom screen.

Preview You assume the role of Storm, an agile manga style fighter with a plethora of attacks. The rebel organization known as Rattle-snake is trying to take control of the world, through the use of heavy artillery and you, Storm, have received orders to repress their attempts at world dominance. You battle your way through an onslaught of a enemies, and in addition to the usual player actions, extended evasion tactics like dodge rolls are within your arsenal of maneuvers allowing you more freedom to tackle on coming enemies.

07 Commando offers along side linear missions, special and hidden missions, each with their own unique locations and backgrounds. Also featuring dynamic water and weather effects, 07 Commando offers a more emersive experience.

  Well'see if the quality will be the same as the game made by SNK. But remains that it's nearly identical to Metal Slug, at a point that one can say it is just copied. And SNK shouldn't be happy of this.
