Quake Arena - DS Bound?
John Carmack of Id Software mentioned that a DS version of Quake Arena might be headed towards DS. Over 4 players please?
"At John Carmack's keynote speech tonight at this year's QuakeCon, the millionaire programmer made mention that there may be a version of Quake Arena in the works for the Nintendo DS."

From what I'm hearing, if it is tru it'll be more akin to how the original Doom played than Quake played. No touch screen moving of your gun like on Metroid Prime Hunters
That would be extremely awkward for playing against actual people.
Quake III Arena is built on Wolfenstein engine which was later modified for Call of Duty. Since Call of Duty is already set for DS release and Wolfenstein was already on GBA's game list, I don't see why they wound need to find "a version of Quake Arena" for DS.
Actually, the GBA version of Wolfenstein was set to use the old 2D Wolfenstein engine from the original 1992 game, and not the 3D engine from Quake III used in Return To Castle Wolfenstein that is far from the GBA capability. But i'm sure the Nintendo DS is able to run a modified Quake III engine, if not, they can just use the Quake II engine that was successfully ported to Nintendo 64.
