ALL Nintendo's E3 2012 conference - Livecast

Head inside and start pressing F5 to refresh the page as we're trying to cover the conference live for your reading pleasure.

19:11 - And that's it. The last video on Nintendo Land is running. Fireworks all over the screens.

19:03 - In multiplayer, the player using the GamePad will have more and different information than the other players using regular Wii Remotes. This allows for asymmetric gameplay. For example, in a Luigi's Mansion-themed game, the GamePad-player play a ghost which should be caught by the other gamers (who don't see the ghost on the television. Only by cooperating, the players can find the ghost.

19:02 - Nintendo Land will implement some Miiverse features as well, but no frther details will be disclosed at this time.

18:59 - Suddenly, the stage has changed. Reggie welcomes us to "Nintendo Land". Nintendo Land for Wii U will allow you to explore 12 different attractions using your own Mii. The attractions are based on popular franchises, such as Luigi's Mansion, Donkey Kong, Zelda and Animal Crossing. A quick demo shows a Donkey Kong-themed minigame in which the gamer has to shoot stars using the GamePad's touchscreen at several moving targets.

18:58 - More games are shown: Assassin's Creed 3, Rayman Legends, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013, Sports Connection and The Avengers.

18:54 - We had seen ZombiU already yesterday at Ubisoft's broadcast. The GamePad is (once again) used as a minimap, a scanner and accessing your inventory. However, it can also be used as a sniper scope, to break free from attacking zombies (shake, shake) or some door hacking minigame (try to figure out the code a.s.a.p.). ZombiU is all about surviving as long as possible. There's one more gimmick: using the camera in the GamePad, you can zombify yourself.

18:53 - Reggie's a puppetmaster in Just Dance 4. Using the GamePad, the player gets to choose the moves the other players have to perform. The game also allows to choose a still pose, which just seems mean for the players having to stand on one leg for quite some time...

18:50 - Ubisoft gets praised by Reggie. With the love Ubisoft shows for Wii U, Nintendo just has to give Yves Guillemot some time to talk about his projects.

18:48 - A portable (3DS) version of LEGO City Undercover is also planned.

18:45 - Back to Wii U. LEGO City Undercover will allow you to move through a virtual city built of LEGO. Solve crimes, using the GamePad as a scanner.

18:44 - Again: little time, more tomorrow. Some highlights: the new Castlevania: Lords of Shadows), Disney's Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, Scribblenauts Unlimited and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.

18:43 - 3DS games passing by the minute now. Next up: Luigi's Mansion 2. Luigi will travel through multiple mansions this time. Also available this Holiday season.

18:42 - Paper Mario: Sticker Star will include something new: stickers... The stickers can be collected and become battle-commands and can help find new places and secrets. Available at the Holiday season

18:41 - New Super Mario Bros. 2 for Nintendo 3DS is whole new. Everything is about gold. Gold coins, gold fire-flowers, gold Mario, gold, gold, gold. The game will be released in the US on August 19 already. More details on the game will follow tomorrow.

18:40 - Enough Wii U news, on to Nintendo 3DS.

18:38 - A new singing-title, under the working title "Sing". The GamePad is used to display lyrics (portrait-mode). What seems off, is the need for a separate microphone as the GamePad had one built-in...

18:36 - With Wii Fit U, you can upload your exercises from off-TV play.

18:34 - After conquering his weight-issues, Reggie is happy to announce Wii Fit U.

18:32 - A demo reels shows: Darksiders II (THQ), Mass Effect 3 (EA), Tank! Tank! Tank! (Namco Bandai), Tekken Tag Tounament 2 (Namco Bandai), Trine 2: Directors Cut (Atlus), Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge (Tecmo), Aliens Colonial Marines (SEGA)

18:29 - Next up: Scribblenauts Unlimited for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS (or so the final image of the trailer claims). Your creations can be shared with friends over the internet. Also, Scribblenauts will feature a multiplayer option.

18:27 - We're getting a quick rundown of the game. The GamePad can be used to access items (the Batbelt anyone?) and even guide some weapons or set off explosives in a specific order. Batman himself would be jealous about a gimmick like this.

18:25 - Batman will feature expanded gameplay

18:23 - Martin Tremblay (Warner Bros.) enters the stage to discuss Batman: Arkham City - Armored Edition.

18:21 - A trailer of New Super Mario Bros U shows Yoshi once again as a ride and a new wingsuit for Mario. Reggie explains that in multiplayer, the player using the gamePad can use the touchscreen to remove blocks, opening up the way for other players to record times.

18:20 - New Super Mario Bros. U for Wii U allows communication within the game. Brag about your highscore, your record time for level 1-3 and many more.

18:18 - Reggie re-explains the concept of Miiverse, the entry 'menu' when you turn on the Wii U. The screen will show icons of games surrounded by Mii's of people you know and people you don't know (yet). Small messages and doodles can be used to communicate this way. And because the information is browser-based (read: web-based), the same content will become available on mobile phones and other web-enabled devices in the (near) future.

18:16 - Wii U will allow two GamePads to connect, just like the original NES did. Add the Wii Remotes to that, and the whole family can play.

18:13 - As there's not enough time, Nintendo will focus on games. More information about Wii U will become available later this week at Nintendo All-Access (see e3.nintendo.com and Youtube.com/nintendo for more details)

18:12 - Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, YouTube... they'll all appear on Wii U.

18:10 - Reggie Fils-Aime enters the stage and welcomes the crowd.

18:09 - The GamePad will show you a minimap of the area. Also the camera positioning has been improved. Where the camera was too far away from the Pikmin on GameCube, the Wii U version will allow you to show the individual movements of your little army.

18:06 - Here we go: Pikmin 3 is announced for Wii U. New black (rock) Pikmin offer you the ability to attack eenemies and knock down walls faster.

18:00 - The conference started with s short movie of Miyamoto and his Pikmin. Miyamoto heads to the stage, followed by the Pikmin. Once in the studio, the video broadcast shows augmented reality Pikmin hiding among the audience...
