Nintendo is making a new Mario game for the 3DS

During the Investor Meeting today, Iwata reveled that the company is creating a new Mario game for the 3DS.

...Although there is no logo here, we are planning to release a totally new side-scrolling action Super Mario in 2D as a key title for the Nintendo 3DS in the next fiscal year.

Nintendo also revealed that they are looking into DLC for first party games but are unsure on how to implement it or use it. Iwata gave the example of a Super Mario title which would have DLC late in its life once gamers are bored of the title which would add more levels and content to the title.
