Doctor Who Coming to the Wii and DS?
In a recent interview, with trade mag MCV, BBC Worldwide revealed it's plans to re-enter the games market after it's last venture (BBC Multimedia) wound up in 2005.
The big news here is that precious IP's, such as the worl wide hit Doctor Who, are up for grabs to 'the right developers'. Dave Anderson, head of multimedia development at BBC Worldwide went on to say "We're having a lot of interesting discussions for a variety of ideas around Doctor Who that are complementary to each rather than in competition with each other - boxed product console games, virtual worlds and other experiences,"
"The deals we are looking at are in different spaces, probably looking at overlapping but different audiences and are certainly delivering a different kind of experience.
"The Doctor Who audience who love that show want to have different experiences around it and it has a huge shelf life going back 47 years - it's about managing and satisfying expectations of both older and younger audiences."
As to what formats the games will eventually appear on is anyone's guess but we'd put money on Nintendo's family on consoles not being overlooked. More news when we get it.

Their also making a Merlin game, are they developing these in house or licencing them to developers and publishers?
ITV also have The Prisoner up for grabs. That would be amazing to play a game based on the classic TV series.
They're licensing Merlin out to a developer, or hope to. It's only really got an audience in the UK so that'll be a hard sell. Doctor Who has a bigger audience but again, a game will be a hard sell because it's just hard to create something off of the license.
Merlin has an audience in Australia as well.
